coverage elsewhere (such as through a spouse\u2019s plan), you may have opportunities to make changes to certain benefit plans with the Universities of Wisconsin within <strong>30 days of the date the other coverage is effective<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>How Benefits are Affected<\/h2>\n<p>Information specific to each benefit plan can be accessed below.<\/p>\n<p>To review which plans you are currently enrolled in log into Workday (<a href=\"http:\/\/myworkday.wisconsin.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">myworkday.wisconsin.edu<\/a>). Once in Workday, from the Menu in the upper left go to Personal, then select Benefits and Pay. In the Suggested Links, select\u00a0<em>My Insurance Benefits<\/em>\u00a0to access the benefits enrollment system.<\/p>\n<p>For assistance with determining the correct date to use when entering your life event in My Insurance Benefits review <a href=\"https:\/\/etf.wi.gov\/publications\/et-1142a\/download?inline=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Effective Dates of Qualifying Life Events (ET-1142a)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"cfct-module uwsa-tabs-accordions\">\n\t\t\t\t    <div class=\"bs-accordion \">\n            <div class=\"accordion-all-buttons\">\n          <a href=\"#\" class=\"accordions-showall btn btn-primary btn-xs\" role=\"button\" data-panel=\"ysmrt\"><span class=\"uw-resize-full\">Open All<\/span><\/a>\n        <\/div>\n        <div id=\"ysmrt\" class=\"panel-group\">\n        \n            <div class=\"panel panel-default \" id=\"panel_state-group-health-preventive-and-supplemental-dental-and-vision-insurance\">\n    <div class=\"panel-heading\" id=\"heading_state-group-health-preventive-and-supplemental-dental-and-vision-insurance\">\n        <h4 class=\"panel-title\"><button href=\"#state-group-health-preventive-and-supplemental-dental-and-vision-insurance\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" class=\"collapsed panel-link\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"state-group-health-preventive-and-supplemental-dental-and-vision-insurance\">State Group Health, Preventive and Supplemental Dental and Vision Insurance<\/button><\/h4>    <\/div>\n    <div id=\"state-group-health-preventive-and-supplemental-dental-and-vision-insurance\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse\"  role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"heading_state-group-health-preventive-and-supplemental-dental-and-vision-insurance\" role=\"region\">\n        <div class=\"panel-body copy\">            \n            \n        <p><strong>State Group Health Insurance AND Uniform Dental:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>You may remove your spouse and dependents from State Group Health Insurance <strong>and<\/strong> Uniform Dental if they have enrolled in other comparable coverage (changing your coverage from family to individual). The change is effective the first of the month on or following receipt of your change.<\/li><li>You may cancel* State Group Health Insurance <strong>and<\/strong> Uniform Dental for yourself, your spouse, and dependents if you, your spouse, and dependents have enrolled in other comparable coverage. <strong>If approved and:<\/strong><ul><li>Your other coverage begins <strong>on<\/strong> the first of the month (for example: April 1), your coverage through the Universities of Wisconsin will end the last day of the prior month (for example: March 31).<\/li><li>Your other coverage does not begin on the first of the month (for example: April 12), your coverage through the Universities of Wisconsin will end the last day of the month your other coverage begins (for example: April 30).<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><p><em>*If you cancel your State Group Health Insurance coverage that included Uniform Dental, this does not create an enrollment opportunity for the Preventive Dental plan.\u00a0<\/em><\/p><p><strong>Preventive Dental, Supplemental Dental, and Vision Insurance:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>You may remove your spouse and\/or dependents who have enrolled in other comparable coverage, changing your level of coverage (for example: from family coverage to employee + children coverage or employee + spouse coverage to individual coverage). The change is effective the first of the month on or following receipt of your change.<\/li><li>You may cancel coverage\u00a0for yourself, your spouse, and dependents if you, your spouse, and dependents have enrolled in other comparable coverage. <strong>If approved and:<\/strong><ul><li>Your other coverage begins <strong>on<\/strong> the first of the month (for example: April 1), your coverage through the Universities of Wisconsin will end the last day of the prior month (for example: March 31).<\/li><li>Your other coverage does not begin on the first of the month (for example: April 12), your coverage through the Universities of Wisconsin will end the last day of the month your other coverage begins (for example: April 30).<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>You will need to provide proof of other coverage that shows the effective date. <\/strong>Review the <a href=\"https:\/\/etf.wi.gov\/its-your-choice\/life-change-events-and-documentation-requirements\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Life Change Events and Documentation Requirements (ET-2846)<\/a> for information on documentation required to confirm eligibility.<\/p>                <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n            <div class=\"panel panel-default \" id=\"panel_flexible-spending-accounts\">\n    <div class=\"panel-heading\" id=\"heading_flexible-spending-accounts\">\n        <h4 class=\"panel-title\"><button href=\"#flexible-spending-accounts\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" class=\"collapsed panel-link\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"flexible-spending-accounts\">Flexible Spending Accounts<\/button><\/h4>    <\/div>\n    <div id=\"flexible-spending-accounts\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse\"  role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"heading_flexible-spending-accounts\" role=\"region\">\n        <div class=\"panel-body copy\">            \n            \n        <p><strong>Health Care FSA | <\/strong><strong>Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account (FSA)<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>You may decrease or stop your contributions if your spouse or dependent gains eligibility and enrolls through their employer\u2019s FSA.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Dependent Day Care<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>You may enroll in or increase your Dependent Day Care Account contributions to reflect the new eligibility of your dependent (if your spouse previously did not work)<\/li><li>You may decrease or stop your Dependent Day Care Account contributions for a dependent added to your spouse\u2019s plan<\/li><\/ul><p>Changes are effective the first of the month on or following receipt of your change.<\/p><p>Note: Elections do not automatically continue into the next plan year. You must re-enroll in FSAs in the fall to participate in the upcoming calendar year.<\/p>                <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n            <div class=\"panel panel-default \" id=\"panel_health-savings-account\">\n    <div class=\"panel-heading\" id=\"heading_health-savings-account\">\n        <h4 class=\"panel-title\"><button href=\"#health-savings-account\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" class=\"collapsed panel-link\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"health-savings-account\">Health Savings Account<\/button><\/h4>    <\/div>\n    <div id=\"health-savings-account\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse\"  role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"heading_health-savings-account\" role=\"region\">\n        <div class=\"panel-body copy\">            \n            \n        <p><strong>If currently enrolled in the Health Savings Account (HSA) and are cancelling State Group Health Insurance (HDHP or Access HDHP): <\/strong>Your enrollment in the HSA will end at the same time your health insurance coverage ends. Your HSA will remain open and you may continue to use the funds in your account for qualifying expenses. However, you will no longer be able to make pre-tax contributions from your paycheck, nor are you eligible for the employer contribution to your HSA, if applicable.\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>If removing dependents: <\/strong>You can change your contribution amount at any time. The change will be effective the first of the month following receipt of your change.<\/p><p>Check with your tax advisor to make sure you do not exceed the maximum HSA contribution limit for the year.
